As part of the Global Story Team under Global Brand Management (GBM), the Copywriting Coach oversees and maintains the network of copywriters in OM. The Coach will invest in OM’s copywriters, helping them develop in their copywriting skills, while upholding the OM brand standards as it relates to messaging and communicating to audiences.
OM copywriters are based around the world, generally in resourcing offices focused on mobilising the church in that country for missions. Some do this work full time, while other do this alongside other jobs in their field. OM copywriters, because they are embedded in local OM offices and report to their office’s marketing director, will generally not report directly to the Copywriting Coach. However, it’s important that all who serve as a copywriter in OM are part of the copywriting network, which is led by the Copywriting Coach.
Through this virtual network, and with oversight from the Coach, copywriters will feel that they are part of the larger OM whole, and understand well how their work impacts the movement. The role of the Coach is crucial, in that he will set the copywriting standards for the organisation, provide messaging and strategy input in local marketing campaigns, and make sure that each writer knows how to use his or her skills according to the OM brand.
