Caring for people

England’s old industrial heartland has many inner-city areas where most families speak Urdu or Punjabi, and mosques dot the skyline. In one such area, OM writer Nicky Andrews spent the day at the Welcome Place Hub* (WPH) a Christian community project led by OMers Stefan* and Louise*, blessing Muslim residents through service and friendship.

In celebration of International Women's Day, we recognise and celebrate the women around the world who selflessly serve God's kingdom impacting their communities through OM's ministries. Through the hundreds of ministries that OM has in different countries and cultural contexts, women serve in a variety of ways, often taking up a combination of roles building up the Body of Christ.
When disasters occur, whether they are man-made or natural, it is a crucial time for the global Church to respond to the needs of people. OM teams, serving in around 147 countries, often extend a helping hand and God's love to those experiencing war, conflict, earthquakes, flooding and more.
For the last six years, OM has partnered with members of the Vineyard Church in Denmark to reach out to the growing Muslim population, as well as secular Danes, through different avenues.
