REACH is an intensive training programme (5 months) and Internship (6 months) aimed at equipping you to find your place in world missions, specifically to establish vibrant communities of Jesus followers amongst the least reached.

You get to live in a multicultural community and will learn to understand new world views, cultures, and values and grow in learning how to work together as the body of Christ. The training programme has its unique style and focuses on essential biblical values. The REACH programme is a full-time residential training programme designed for you to pull away from your ordinary life and give your full attention to the experience of living in a multicultural community, which will help prepare you for an internship in South Africa or around the globe. You will join people from other nations and backgrounds in a diverse international team.

Our flagship offering includes both our REACH foundation training and our internship phase This 11-month program in a multi-cultural environment provides participants with both classroom and practical ministry experience in preparation to serve in a least-reached field. Our internship programme will place you in a location and situation that is customised for your needs and that will prepare you to serve the least reached among the nations. Participants that have completed REACH or already have ministry experience can (after evaluation) choose to take part in an internship programme to gain missions experience in a specific field in preparation for long-term placement. The full 11-month programme offers participants the best preparation for ministry among the least reached, however, participants may join the 5-month and 6-month programmes separately.

Our Curriculum

The classroom time will help you build a strong foundation for your work in missions. It will include teaching, workshops, simulations, small discussion groups, worship, and Bible studies. Teaching is interactive and understandable for all, and includes topics like spiritual formation, sharing the gospel, your purpose, and God’s plan for your life, as well as reproducing communities of Jesus followers, leadership and teamwork, world missions, culture, and world faiths.

Practical ministry experience

You will be able to put your classroom learning into practice in the real world through outreaches and ministry opportunities. This may include practical work serving one another, ministry placements, volunteering and visiting existing OM ministries or churches, and one-day outreach opportunities to share the gospel. There will also be longer, cross-cultural outreaches to give you a taste of different mission contexts. These experiences will train and prepare you for future ministry.

Coach-Mentoring

One-on-one mentoring is an essential part of the REACH experience. The aim of coach-mentoring is for you to receive individual attention from an experienced Jesus follower who can help you in your spiritual and emotional growth and development. The coach-mentor will help you to set your growth goals and move towards them. This time is for you to grow.
