Sharing the love of God practically

Venezuela’s 28 million people are eager to find stability in the past twenty years of political upheaval, and widespread poverty. Despite vast oil reserves, there are food shortages, hyper-inflation and extensive corruption, all of which combine to challenge the country’s economy. These have caused six million Venezuelans seek professional employment overseas – taking their skills and values with them into the international workplace.

By training future professionals to live out God’s love in their workplace, wherever that might be, or sharing God’s love with young people, there are opportunities in Venezuela for everyone’s future, both nationally and globally.

“To train, equip and mentor Christian men and women through spiritual disciplines, and awareness of differing cultures, together with practical tools that will enable them to contribute and greatly enrich their communities,” said the team leader. “There are huge economic challenges for them in the current climate. By supporting them in life choices and values whether in Venezuela or overseas, they discover God’s reliability.”

Jesus followers in Venezuela

Officially, there is religious freedom in this country. Official figures state that 82 per cent of the population are Christian. 66 different people groups are represented in Venezuela, with thousands yet to hear of God’s love for the first time. Fewer people go to church in Venezuela than in any other Latin American nation, with the region’s largest mosque situated in the capital, Caracas. Options to explore faith in its broadest concept, or discard altogether, abound.  Many international groups work alongside national believers, both in the cities and rural areas.

Come to the capital city of Caracas, teeming with its population of almost three million, much of it made up by young people and share the love of God - by talking - even in basic Spanish! 88 per cent of the nation are urban dwellers, where international workers can live alongside national Jesus followers, building, inspiring and motivating others, through sharing their personal journey of faith.

Whether you come for a long, or short time, or whether you pray, or invest in lives through financial support, there are many ways for you to share God’s love with the people in Venezuela.
