The Ships

OM’s Ship Ministry is sharing knowledge, help and hope in and around the world's port cities. God is using our platform to disciple Jesus followers to share the life-changing message of the Kingdom of God with all people in every nation.

Since 1970, OM’s Ship Ministry has brought the world’s largest floating bookfairs to nearly 500 individual ports in more than 150 countries. Over the last five decades, more than 49 million visitors have come aboard our vessels.

OM staff disciple and pour themselves spiritually into crew members by working alongside them daily with one-on-one leadership and biblical training. Our desire is to inspire and launch the next generation of global leaders with a heart for those who don’t know God’s love.

While the ship is in port, teams visit communities to offer practical help and the hope of the gospel alongside local churches and partner agencies.

As a catalyst, OM's ships provide the spark that galvanises and awakens churches around the globe. Many who already know, love and serve Jesus, experience a global vision on board and become motivated to share God’s love with all people.

Doulos Hope

2023 - current

OM's Ship Ministry launched Doulos Hope in 2023. Meaning 'Servant of Hope', she brings many fresh and exciting advantages to our ministry.

This smaller, agile vessel can operate in shallower waters and access ports that have been beyond the reach of her sister ship, Logos Hope. She is expected to serve largely in East Asia and Pacific regions.

The ship has six decks with a brand-new visitor experience area, bookfair and café.

Doulos Hope offers many rewarding opportunities to use your gifts, skills and experience to serve on board. If you can imagine yourself serving on board among a multi-national crew, please click on the button below to explore your next steps.

Logos Hope

2009 - current

Purchased in 2004, Logos Hope is OM’s largest ship. After undergoing a complete renovation that transformed her from a car ferry, Logos Hope launched into active service in February 2009.

Today, Logos Hope visits each port for several weeks at a time and opens the gangways to hundreds and sometimes thousands of visitors each day. On average, over one million visitors have been welcomed on board every year!

The floating bookfair offers over 5,000 titles, providing many visitors their first-ever opportunity to purchase quality educational literature, at discounted prices.

Logos Hope offers a huge range of opportunities to 'come as you are' and use the gifts and talents God has given you to serve on board. Please click on the button below to explore your next steps.

Logos II

1977 - 2010

Doulos was purchased in 1977 and sold in 2010. During her 32 years of service with OM, Doulos welcomed over 22 million people on board while visiting 601 ports of call in 108 countries. The vessel covered more than 360,000 nautical miles, which is the equivalent of sailing around the world 16 times!

Built in 1914, Doulos was recognised in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's oldest active ocean-going passenger ship.

1970 - 1988

OM's first pioneering ship, Logos, was purchased in 1970. Over a 17-year period, more than six and a half million visitors came on board Logos during 408 ports of call in 108 countries.

In 1988, Logos ran aground in atrocious weather conditions in Tierra del Fuego, hitting rocks in the Beagle Channel between Argentina and Chile. Though the ship could not be saved, not a single crewmember was lost, or even injured.
