Special Needs Teacher/Occupational Therapist

In Durres, OM Albania works with children who have special needs in all areas of life such as physical disabilities, learning difficulties, autism or ADHD traits, speech trouble etc. and needs more people who can help to encourage and teach them both schooling and practical life skills. Often times these children are not encouraged to do their homework by their parents or do not attend school, and have no future dreams at all. As most of the parents never went to school themselves, the children can not simply ask their parents for help or encouragement.

Recently we have begun to work with some families, giving the children help in learning to read/write or help with homework. We are also teaching practical life skills which can help with in their everyday lives. 

This person would need to have a heart for serving, a heart for children, patience to work with these kids and a willingness to learn Albanian.

This is not a paid position, financial support will need to be raised for life on the field.
