Journey Overview

Forcalquier is a historic town with the colours and scents of Provence, where life is good. There is no trace of an evangelical church, apart from the front of an old Protestant temple. We like to compare this town to a living beehive where traditions, new-age, the search for well-being and various demands intermingle... Our desire is to incarnate the Gospel of Jesus Christ who saves with the newborn church! We are working with a new church in the process of being planted, to bring the good news of the Bible to a people in search of spirituality but far removed from the truth. The aim is to spread this message in a creative and relevant way, alongside local Christians who live out their witness on a daily basis.

N/A Price excludes flights and insurance and is subject to change according to the exchange rate.

As part of our Safeguarding policy, you may require a valid enhanced DBS certificate, which may cost an additional £15.

What To Expect

Forcalquier is also a town of art, with a number of galleries and different arts represented.
Come and discover or rediscover the gift(s) God has given you to serve Him! Join a motivated team of Christian artists ready to help us with this wonderful project! Our aim is to reach out to people through art, to build bridges and introduce our Creator to his creatures! We'll be offering workshops for children, street activities, frescoes, conferences... all designed to arouse curiosity and wonder through these creations that bear witness to the Creator!
We hope to have a week united in prayer, united in the teaching of our God, united in the links we will create between us and finally united in our desire to meet local people to talk to them about God and his Son Jesus. We also hope that this will be an opportunity to discover our community café (currently under construction), which will serve as a base for our activities - we're already looking forward to it!

Participant Profile

Age Range: 18-99

Humble and faithful believers who are focused on God (cf. Philippians 2:5-8). Are you ready to serve your Creator, whatever He asks of you? We are looking for participants with a servant's heart, ready to be shaped and used by God for this project.

Teamwork is an important part of the project, and the team is likely to be multicultural. You'll need to make an effort to adapt to differences. Fluency in English will be a great advantage, but is not compulsory.

We will be offering creative workshops for local children, so experience of working with children will be an advantage. A creative mind can be useful, but is not compulsory.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will there be accommodation provided?

During the week you will be staying either with church members or at the local church. Details will be announced in the weeks leading up to the campaign.

We hope to be able to offer separate accommodation for couples but this is subject to local availability. Please contact us for more information.

Will there be food provided?

Meals will be provided by the local church. You will be asked to help prepare meals or tables and clean up.

Do I need to make my own travel arrangements?

Once your participation has been confirmed, you'll be in charge of booking your tickets to and from Forcalquier.

If you are travelling from abroad, the easiest way is to arrive at Marseille airport. It is possible to arrive in Paris and take the TGV to Marseille St Charles station. We will send you details of the Marseille-Forcalquier journey a month before your arrival.

You should plan to arrive in Marseille before 12 noon on Saturday 6 July.

Departure is from Sunday morning, 14 July.

What should my health condition be like?

Participants are expected to be in reasonably good health, prepared for an intense week of evangelism. Any special requests (food allergies, special diets, back problems requiring good bedding, etc.) should be announced as soon as possible, to enable the organisers to prepare to receive you! Each participant must also arrange their own personal health insurance, so that they are covered throughout the campaign period.
It can be hot or it can rain. Bear in mind that temperatures can range from 25°C to 38°C.

Do I need a visa?

Some non-European participants may require a visa. They will need to start their registration with the OM office in their country, at least one month before the registration deadline given here. For more information, please contact the OM office in your country.
