Partnership Overview

Do you feel called by God to serve Him in Spain? Join the OM team as we serve to inspire, mobilise and equip others in seeing churches grow and be discipled, as well as getting involved hands-on in one of the least reached countries in Europe.

The Field Personnel Officer is crucial to our ministry here in Spain. As the principal contact for people wanting to go into mission with OM, you'll play a key role in guiding them through the process and supporting them right through to their return.

Required Skills

We are looking for committed team members who love Jesus and are passionate about serving Him with their gifts and skills.

As the Field Personnel Officer, you will be the point of contact for any Spanish people looking to go into missions with OM, from the initial inquiry and discussion about finding the best fit within the OM world for their gifts and passions, then during the whole application process, up to the point of departure.

You will also be in touch regularly with each person, to ensure that they are doing well during their time in ministry, as well as helping with any administrative needs if their role or commitment time changes. Then finally organising a debrief and accompanying them at the end of their time with OM.

You will also be the point of contact for people coming to join the team here in Spain. This includes helping to organise the administrative details (budget, visas etc) and planning and training during their orientation and onboarding.

The Field Personnel Officer is also the contact for the OM International personnel team and therefore needs to abide by the best practice rules set at an international level.  The role also involves keeping the Human Resources records up to date for OM in Spain team members.

As we are a small field this is a part time role that could be combined with other roles within the team (e.g. People Care, friendship evangelism, on the ground ministry) or with another role outside OM.  You would be based in one of several locations where we have OM teams in Spain.

All OM in Spain team members are expected to be actively involved in a local church as well as being involved in activities that involve meeting local Spanish people.

Required qualities:

  • Well-organised and reliable.
  • Good administrative, communication and computer skills.
  • Experience of working with people, sometimes in challenging circumstances.
  • Ability to manage several tasks at the same time.
  • Experience of completing tasks to a set deadline.
  • Flexible and able to deal with unexpected changes.
  • Good level of written and spoken English and intermediate Spanish (Spanish to be able to communicate well with Spanish people wanting to go or already in missions, and English to communicate with other fields across the OM world).
  • Ability to pay attention to detail.
  • Ability to use judgment and discretion in dealing with people and information.
  • Ability to work cross-culturally and with different denominations.
  • Have a growing relationship with Jesus.
  • Have a desire to share Jesus with Spanish people who don't yet know Him.
  • Willing to grow spiritually in community.

* The jobs listed on this website do not have a set salary. This means that the person who applies will need to raise their own support, which is money that they will use to live on. The amount of support money they need to raise will depend on things like where they are from, if they have a family, and what country they will be working in. There might be some jobs that pay salary, but these are rare and would need to be negotiated with the sending offices and the teams you'd like to serve with. If you have any questions about this, please contact your local home office. Always keep in mind that our ministry depends on generous giving from our partners around the globe and God's ongoing provision. Joining OM is always seen as a step of faith and trust in a God who will provide for our needs through his chosen people.
